Do you love the stuff? Hate the stuff? Miller and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it (the kids GAG GAG GAG at the thought of it...maybe someday they'll appreciate it!) Anyways, the best way to make it is to drizzle with olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground pepper and either grill it or roast it in the oven at 375 for about 12 minutes (you DON'T want to eat asparagus mushy...gross) Take advantage of this summer green, yummy!
When is it best to buy it? when it is big, or skinny, coloring? We like it but I don't know how to buy it...
ReplyDeleteSpringtime is definitely the best time to buy asparagus...or pick it fresh! I remember my Mom taking us often to pick it...I hated it! But, I love love love it now (now that I've grown up :) Anyways, I like asparagus best when its not too skinny and not too fat. If you do buy the fatter spears, you need to shave them a little or else they are tough.
